Texture is one of the fundamental elements of interior design, and this exciting and visually diverse collection of natural materials will introduce texture to your walls, ceilings, pillars, counters or tabletops, turning any flat surface (not the floor) into a stand-out feature. Of course, if you wish you may use virtually any of the products from our other ranges on such surfaces too.
When using wood to clad a vertical surface, or, say, a ceiling or table top, the structural strength required when laying a floor is superfluous. Indeed, the weight of a standard solid or engineered plank may actually be a disadvantage. The thinner planks that we call veneers exhibit all the sophisticated good looks of our standard reclaimed planks, and they are milled to the same exacting tolerances, but, with less than half the depth of timber, these innovative products offer a lightweight and cost-effective alternative to achieving stunning looking surfaces.
Many of our veneer products are created from reclaimed timber. Others, known as Yakisugi, have been charred to emphasise the grain. In addition to the Yakisugi products shown here a further dozen vibrant colours, including reds, yellows, blues and greens, are available to order. Please call for more details.
PurePanels provide a crisp, Scandinavian-style panelling effect due to their large size, smooth surface and very clean grain. FSC® certified (C009500), highly consistent and pre-finished, they are quick and easy to fit and come in two versions: PurePanel Duo with an extremely stable HDF core faced on both sides with a timber veneer, and PureVeneer, which is a 1mm wood veneer sheet with a phenolic backing that can be used in the same way as an HPL laminate but with the added advantages of real wood. Matching wood veneer edge trim is available for all PurePanel products.
PurePanels are a stock item in veneers that match seven of our most popular floor finishes, but may also be milled to order in other finishes: please contact us for your special requirements Also, please note that PurePanels are designed primarily for vertical surfaces and are not suitable for cladding high usage horizontal surfaces like table tops or counters.
Real wood tiles
These three-dimensional real wood tiles are extraordinarily beautiful and, we believe, unique to Havwoods. Milled from prime grade European oak with a matt oiled finish they are genuine wood sculptures for your walls and are quite unlike anything else we have seen. Two diamond shapes and one triangular tile are available, each with sides measuring 250mm. Unfortunately we are unable to offer free samples of these products so please call to discuss your requirements.
Reclaimed wood planks
Wood salvaged from age-old structures is always particularly striking, the subtle allure of its past incarnation enhancing the timber's natural whorls and knots. Like the aged timber in our Relik range, all of the planks in this Vertical collection have been planed, profiled and sanded to twenty-first-century tolerances, producing boards that are as straight, flat and consistent as those milled from newly felled timber.
Mosaic pattern panels
Despite their intricate appearance, our mosaic pattern panels are actually an easy way to create an exceptional stand-out feature. Made from pieces of reclaimed timber that have been bonded onto backing sheets, they simply slot together for an effortless installation. The panels may be fitted horizontally or vertically.
The cork oak is a truly remarkable tree. Because the bark regenerates, it can be harvested many, many times throughout its natural 300-year life span. And, since these managed cork forests provide one of the world's richest ecosystems, it means that using cork is particularly beneficial to the planet as well as to your project.
As a material, cork is equally remarkable - so naturally perfect that no industrial process has yet been able to replicate it. Firstly, it is one of the very best natural acoustic and thermal insulators. Secondly, it is a natural fire retardant, neither spreading flame nor releasing toxic gases. And finally it is impermeable to both liquids and gases, so it will neither rot or harbour dust, which makes it a natural hypoallergenic.
Many of these wall coverings are cork as you've never seen it before, featuring unusual three-dimensional and relief patterns. They are sourced from an award-winning company who have used their enormous experience in the industry to develop products that not only look stunning but also build upon cork's inherent benefits, for example, by enhancing its natural water, stain and grease-resistance using suitably 'free-from' compounds.
