PROJECT: East Mamma’s
PRODUCTS USED: Relik Reclaimed Flooring
This casual-dining restaurant in the 11th Arrondissement is inspired by the trattorias of Italy, but there will be few Italian trattorias which are quite so chic. Designed by Martin Brudnizki Design Studio – the company behind more than twenty Jamie’s Italian restaurants, as well as a wealth of more formal eateries in both the UK and overseas – the brief was for a fresh, fun and authentic space. Lime green marble and brilliant yellow ceramic tiles dress the multiple bars, evoking sunny southern climes, whilst the brightly coloured, traditionally-styled padded leather seating, old brick and rough plaster are truly reminiscent of a thousand Italian hostelries.
The flooring in East Mamma is Havwoods’ Reclaimed Barn Oak Chevron, an engineered board from the Relik range. Stock products Reclaimed Venetian Lagoon Oak Chevron or Reclaimed Solid Oak Chevron, also from the Relik range are obvious alternatives, but do consider the Italian Collection range, which offers chevrons in both 22.5° and 45° battens from stock, as well as the Henley range where many of the planks are available to order as chevrons.
